Ely
Patent Combo Tool Wrench
This combination hatchet, wrench
hammer, cutter, puller and more is marked with the 1889 patent date shown.
The finished product has little too do with the original idea. This guy must
have had a lot on his mind as he added about a dozen new ideas to this version.
Check out the compound lever action he used. It is the first example I have
ever had or seen. A hard to find combo wrench that I wish had teeth in the
looped handle so I could call it a corn sheller as well.Excellent.....$195.00 SOLD!
Good +....... $175.00 SOLD
IHC Cutout Implement Wrench
This is a tough one to find, and this one is
in exceptionally nice condition with absolutely no damage to the letters and it
still has what I believe to be original finish or black paint on it. It is
marked 770E on the back side near the smaller head. No rust, and no pitting
on this one. You will like it.
Bradley's
Wonder Cutout Wrench This wrench is in good condition. Other than
some minor pitting it is very nice. There is no damage to the letters.
A very hard to find cutout wrench and one of the largest and most graphic that
can be found..
Merrick
Patent Nut Wrench
One of the first American Patented Nut Wrenches.
Rare!!
Studebaker
Patented Buggy Wrench
After his stint in CA making a fortune with his
wheelbarrows Mr. Studebaker moved on to making buggies and carriages in
the Midwest and that
is what this wrench is for.
Patented
Crescent Style Adjustable Plier / Wrench
This Plier / wrench appears to be in very nice condition and looks great.
For those who were in a bigger hurry than the speed the standard crescent wrench
offered. Different and hard to find.
Frich
Hi Wheel Bicycle Wrench
The first letter
on the name of this wrench is hard to read, but on the other side the Hi Wheel bicycle
logo is clear as day. A great wrench that has seen use, but is nice..
Bemis
& Call 6" Double End
This is the hardest
to find of all double end wrenches. This wrench is in very nice condition, it is
virtually corrosion and pit free. Strong marking, no damage and ready for
the collection.
Bullard
#0 Patent Oct. 27th 03 This is the smallest
size and most difficult to find quick adjusting pipe wrench by this maker.
It is in very nice condition and operates flawlessly. A nice example.
6-8" Double headed Crescent Wrenches From an era
when the thought of giving you a twofer for your money was not
considered a stupid or bad idea.
Swivel
Head Crescent
Style Wrench There are a number of variations on the
theme of this wrench trying to improve on one of the most popular and
common forms of wrenches. You can pro=bably find a variation on
the Auto parts store counter or at Sears even today.
Unmarked
Small Buggy or Nut Wrench This wrench is in
very good overall condition. There is a little turned up edge at the straight
jaw but it is very minor. The square nut end is very nice as is the hardwood
handle. Cute, and hard to find.
Patent
Appl'd Alligator Wrench Latch it on
and go. Another one sure to tear up the work, but then that was probably not
the main consideration when the fellow put this one on the market. Increased
productivity and speed were the, and watch the knuckles bleed. It is 10" long
and has some minor rust from sitting, but is otherwise pretty nice.
Adjustable
Alligator
Style Wrench This wrench is in nice condition. An
interesting design applied to a horrible form. That is what makes
it a good one. .
The
Prince Combo Brace / Wrench These unusual wrenches were patented just about
100 years ago. This one saw little use during that time, and is in near
new condition and shows little if any evidence of abuse or even use. It is
one of the nicest condition examples of this hard to find combination tool that
I have ever had, or seen. It is time to upgrade!!Good + ....... $145.00 SOLD
Bay State Quick Adjust Nut Wrench
Patented June 7th 1904 It says
it is the Bay State on the head, with the patent info on the other side. The
best and most collectible wrenches are those that were designed and produced based
on a lousy idea or ones that worked poorly. This one fits the bill nicely
as there is no provision included to allow for the final adjustment that is
almost always needed when using a nut wrench to avoid slippage and the resulting
rounded nuts, and banged knuckles. Perhaps pipe wrenches could get away without
this provision, but you can bet that this design would have a tendency to round
off some of those tight ones, and also be near impossible to adjust in a tight area.
Seldom seen, and in nice operating condition now that it is clean. That was
another problem with this and many of the other quick adjust wrenches that were
introduced. All the superior engineering and machining would come to a sticky
grinding halt with just a few grains of dirt in the proper place. I have either
the 10" version, or a 12" and both are in similar nice condition.
Never-Slip
Combo-Wrench This combo wrench shows up
from time to time, but rarely in this condition or in its original box.
Coe's
Key Lock Adjustable Nut Wrench 36
This unusual nut wrench is a favorite with those
who like them big. They came in a range of sizes between 24" and
72" long with just a handful of those larger ones known. This example
is in very nice condition and shows little evidence of hard use. It was a
neat idea to be able to quickly adjust to the right size and then slam the wedge
into place before you did the final adjust. Holding one of these up while
you tried adjusting it an inch or so with just the screw would have been a
tiring experience I imagine. A hard to find and very graphic wrench!!This is just a sample of the many antiques we have sold. Click link to see other Sales Archive Pages on this Site.
