Salvation
Army Porcelain Sign This porcelain sign is in very
nice condition. It is about 12" wide and 16" tall. There are no major
chips or dings and the color is good.
Howe
Scale Porcelain Sign This porcelain sign is in very
nice condition. It is about 45" long and 10" tall. There are no major
chips or dings and the color is good and not as faded or splotchy as the pic makes
it look.
Conoco
Porcelain Sign This Conoco Oil Company sign is in very
nice overall condition. There is some minor rust on one side but it looks
great. It measures about 27" tall and 25" or so across at the widest.
Sherwin
Williams Paint Porcelain Sign This porcelain sign is
in very nice overall condition. "Cover the Earth" was their logo back in their
heyday and this sign has a great graphic picturing that. There is one ding
on each side, but otherwise is very nice. It measures about 16" tall
and 22 1/2" or so across at the widest. There is a flange to hang it so both
sides will show.
GE
General Electric Mazda Lights Porcelain Box This type
of thing hung in old time gas stations and was a point of sale display and dispenser.
It is in great condition. It measures about 16" tall and
8" or so across at the widest. Three sides have advertising.
Double
Sided Porcelain Cigar Shop Sign This
very nice example of a double sided Porcelain Cigar Advertising Sign. The
field on both sides is near perfect. It measures about 12" tall and 30" or
so across the face. The colors are bright. I assume it use to hang over
the door of the local tobacco shop.
Otis
Elevator Cast Iron PlaqueThis firm was
organized in the 1880's. Very nice condition, and measures approx 10"
long and 8" tall. This one originates from the Pacific Coast Division
as can be seen. They needed
to hire a graphics layout person, as it is laid out a bit funny as can be seen.
R.
B. Hayden Whiskey Brass Advertising Sign This brass sign just needs a little paint job
to return to its former beauty. It is solid brass and is dent free and in
pretty nice condition overall. It measures approx 16" x 24". It is engraved
on stock that is about 1/8" thick. R. B. Hayden were the folks who produced
"Old Grand Dad" whiskey. From what I have read the original founder got his
start back in the late 1700's making Whiskey in Kentucky out in the woods.
He passed the tradition down to his son or grandson R. B. Hayden, who later called
his concoction "Old Grand Dad". This is a very nice sign and piece of
early advertising.
McCormick-Derring
Tin Sign This tin sign is in super condition.
It measures about 10" tall and 27 1/2" or so across.
Oswald
Bros. Porcelain Advertising Sign This is
in great condition, and portrays a horse drawn road grader. It is
approx 18" x 24".
Sunbeam
Cakes Advertising Sign I think this type of sign
was typically attached to a screen door of an old time grocery store. The
painted letters are embossed into the tin / metal sign. This is just a sample of the many antiques we have sold. Click link to see other Sales Archive Pages on this Site.
