Stanley
Millers Patent # 41 Rabbet and Fillister Plane This # 41 is OK but needs some restoration work performed.
First off it needs a handle as can be seen. The body is OK, but there is hardly
any original finish left and although it looks good as is, it will look better with
a japanning. The skate is lightly pitted but you can make out the logo there.
The fillister bed is OK and the nicker is there, but short.. It has light
pitting on the sole as well. The wrap around fence is OK. Again there
is little finish, but no breaks or damage. The outside fence does have a crack
along the fence and is missing both of its screws. It is a project plane that
has potential.
Good . . . . . $295.00 SOLD
Stanley
# 46 Skew Rabbit Plane This # 46 dates
from near the turn of the century. There is a slitter, and the original box of cutters
is nice with no rust or problems. The owner made box is included.
The nickel plating is 90% or better. It will make a good user.
Good . . . . . $245.00 SOLD
Stanley
# 46 Skew Rabbit / Dado Plane This # 46 dates
from near the turn of the century. There is a slitter, and 9 cutters. It
is nice with no rust or problems. The owner made box is included.
The original japanning is 90% or better. It has the unusual wrap around fence
/ depth stop as well.Good . . . . . $295.00 SOLD
Stanley
#41 Millers Patent Plow Plane w/ Fillister
and Cutters Here is a very nice example of this increasingly
popular and difficult to find plane. It merely needs a careful light cleaning
to make it a showpiece. The handle is nice, as is the finish on the body.
The wood is good and the patent info on it is clear and strong. The brass
parts have a nice patina, have not been rounded or otherwise abused, and the knurling
is all nice. The skate is not pitted to speak of, and exhibits a nice patina
as well. Included are both the outside fence and the wrap around iron inner
fence. The very hard to find fillister bed is here as well, although it is
missing one of the mounting screws and the nicker. The pictures show only
seven cutters, but there are 8 as I left the 1/8" laying on the table and it is
included. There are two different depth stops, one being the heavy brass one
up front and the rear one is the steel version. It does need two replacement
screws for the fence, but these are available these days at a reasonable expense.
A great piece to add to the collection high up on the shelf.
Good . . . . . $1295.00 SOLD
Stanley #41 Type 3 Combination Plow
PlaneThis Stanley #41 is in very nice condition. It is a very
early model and has original split screws that are nice as well. There has
been one professional repair done to the tip of the tote. There is some very
light pitting on various parts but overall this is a super example of a very nice
plane that includes the fillister bed and 8 cutters.
Good . . . . . $1850.00 SOLD
Stanley #41 Millers Patent Plow Plane
The Stanley Millers Patent series of Combination Plow and Fillister plane are one
of the most graphically good looking and sought after of all manufactured woodworking
planes that was ever produced. This example is some light overall pitting
on the skate, but the 2 line logo is readable. The outside fence is not included
and the fillister is missing. All in all a nice example of a very beautiful
and difficult plane to find.
Good . . . . . $295.00 SOLD
Stanley
#141 SW Era Nickel Plated Millers Patent Plow Plane Here is a pretty nice example of this increasingly
popular and difficult to find plane. The handle is nice, and the finish
on the body approaches 90% or more. The wood is good and the SW logo on the
skate is clear and strong. The skate is not pitted. Included is the
outside fence. It is missing the second bullnose front, and there is no Fillister
bed. There are two different depth stops, one being the heavy cast one up
front and the rear one is the steel version. The slitter is present.
There are no cutters. A great piece to add to the collection.
Good . . . . . $395.00 SOLD
Stanley
#42 Type 4 Millers Patent Plow Plane
The Stanley #42 Combination Plow and Fillister plane is one of the most graphically
good looking and sought after of all manufactured woodworking planes that was ever
produced. First introduced in 1870 this prime example exhibits traits that
indicate that it is a Type 3A or 4 and dates from about 1875 or 1876.
It is just slightly later than the other example of a #42 plane that I have listed
above. It is also in slightly nicer condition as evidenced by the very
nice original finish Rosewood long horn handle and lack of any appreciable pitting
or corrosion on the skate or fillister bed. The wrap around fence is
super and fits perfectly. All screws are nice and show just normal amounts
of wear. These beautiful and graphic planes with their gunmetal (bronze) bodies,
and superb looks and design are a testament to the craftsmanship and taste of our
early toolmakers and to those craftsmen who used them and the work that they turned
out. This is one of the nicer examples of this very beautiful and highly
desirable and collectible planes that I have ever had the pleasure to offer.
A winner that belongs on the top shelf of every serious tool collection.
Good . . . . . $2750.00 SOLD
Stanley
#42 Millers Patent Plow Plane
This Stanley #42 Combination Plow and Fillister plane needs some attention and a
few parts to make it complete. That is reflected in the price.
Good . . . . . $1750.00 SOLD
Stanley
#45 Combination Plow Plane This Stanley #45 is one of those where
the cutters are in a sweetheart box, and the box and plane are marked a bit
later. This is typical. This one has a few minor spots of corrosion,
but like many from this era, saw little if any use. The #18 1/2 cutter is missing,
but the rest is all here, as are the slitter, cam, short and long rods, etc.
Overall it looks great. No instructions.
Good + . . . . . $325.00 SOLD
Stanley # 45 Multi Plane
This Stanley #45 Combination plane looks to have never been used. The box
on the other hand went through some rough times, and at some point got wet.
The top is in pieces, and there is some minor rust pitting on some of the small
parts from that. The rest of the plane is in excellent condition. It
has all the parts including the screw driver and original instruction pamphlet .
The cutters are in fine condition and have never been sharpened or needed it.
The box for them is nice, and has the Sweetheart logo. I shoot pics of
both sides of the fence and there is no wear at all to the Rosewood strip.
This plane will be a great user, or will display nicely. They are getting
tough to find in this condition.

Stanley #45 Combination Plow Plane
in Green Box Stanley #45's are a dime a dozen and readily available.
Finding one this early in its original box is a rare occasion. This is a different
situation and few # 45's combination planes are known in their original boxes from
this early or this period. This is approx. a type 4 and dates from the period
from 1890-1892 when Stanley first began to nickel plate this line of planes.
It appears it sat on a shelf for 100 or so years as the cutters show no evidence
of ever having been used. A rare piece to find in the box!!
Good . . . . . $1095.00 SOLD
Stanley # 55 Combination Plane w/
Cutters in Box This plane is in Good+ condition. It has 52+ cutters
and includes the aux center depth stop, cam, both sets of rods etc. The box
is OK noting the spill on the top. There are no instructions.

Good+ . . . . . . . $695.00

Stanley
#55 Combination Plow Plane in Original Box This is the nicest example of one of these
that I have had in 15 years. It has only been removed from the
brown waxed paper to inspect the parts. It is truly mint, and I
doubt it has ever touched a blade to wood. It is one of the last
models produced by Stanley before they finally ended production of this
plane in the 60"s. Sometimes these unused planes exhibit rust or
problems from improper storage, but that is not the case here.
This plane is dead mint with 100% shinny Nickel plating everywhere.
The cutters are bright and shinny as well.. The box is nice as
well noting the area of the label missing on the front.

I do not believe
that you will ever see a nicer example, so if you have the right place
to store it and are looking for a collector quality top shelf example of
a 55 plane, look no further.
Good........ $995.00 SOLD
A super Stanley # 55 combination plane in the original box with all original parts that marks the end of an era for the Stanley Rule & Level Co. These planes are becoming ever more difficult to find in this nice condition. Highly recommended.
Excellent . . . . . . $675.00 SOLD!
Stanley # 45 Multi Plane
This Stanley # 45 is in nice overall condition. The plane is very nice w/ 95% of the nickel or better.
The outer box has seen better days and the corners are loose, but did its job protecting and keeping the
parts together. The cutters are nice, never been ground and all here. The cover has a sweetheart
logo dating this plane from approx the 20's thru the 30's. It has both fences and both sets of rods,
slitter and the cam. No instructions, but a nice 45 that will make a great user.
Good +. . . . . . $275.00 SOLD!
Stanley
# 55 Multi Plane w/ 4 Boxes of Cutters
This Stanley # 55 combination plane is in near new little used condition. It is a
sweetheart era plane dating from approx 1925 thru 1935. The nickel plating on the main body, fences and other body part is 95% or better. The cutters are housed in the 4 boxes
shown and show no signs of ever having been used. There is no rust or
pitting here either. There are just spots of shelf
rust / storage rust in the corners where the skate
meets the body and on the cutters. It will clean to be fine w/ no pitting. . It is really nice overall. This is a nice Stanley # 55 combination plane. These planes can turn out some beautiful work in the hands of a skilled operator and this example will make a great user.
Good+ . . . . . . $495.00 SOLD!
Stanley
# 55 Multi Plane in Original Flip Top Wooden Pine Box
This Stanley # 55 combination plane is in super condition. It is a
sweetheart era plane dating from approx 1925 thru 1935 and the later style
sweetheart logo is on the skate of the main body.
The nickel plating on the main body, fences and other body part is 98% or better. There is no
rust / pitting and just traces of storage rust in the corners where the skate
meets the body. It is really nice overall. The finger joint pine wooden box is nice, and a rare variation as most
55's from this era are found in paste board boxes. There are some minor losses
to the painted decal on the top, and some other wear to the finish on the box,
but overall it is very nice.
It has the
auxiliary tower but the shoe is missing. This is the only apology I see.
Both sets of rods, the cam, slitter, and original screwdriver are present.
There are 56 cutters housed in the 4 row section provided at the end of the original flip top wooden
box. The cutters are near mint and show no signs of ever having been used
or sharpened. It appears this plane was used once,
noted by light rub marks on the inside of the smaller Rosewood fence and then put up on the shelf to sit for
the next 80 some years. The instruction
pamphlet or owners manual is a reprint.
A super Stanley # 55 combination plane in the original box with all original parts. These planes are becoming ever more difficult to find in this nice condition and seldom found in this style box. Highly recommended.
Excellent . . . . . . $675.00 SOLD!

Millers Patent #44 Plow Plane
The Stanley Millers Patent line of
Combination Plow and Fillister planes is one of the most graphic, good looking,
and sought after of all patented manufactured woodworking planes. First introduced
in 1870 this line of planes was offered by Stanley for less than 30 years before
being phased out in favor of the more popular and versatile Stanley #45 / 55 series
of planes.
This is a #44 Gunmetal or Bronze plow plane. It is proper
the way it is shown with its straight bronze fence. The #42 Plow would have
a Fillister Bed, and the bronze wrap around fence. These planes originally
came with 9 cutters, but are usually only found with 1 cutter as this one has.
The condition is very nice with no pitting or rust. Note the bold and clear
name stamp on the skate. The one apology would be the roughness on the top
of the tote. This is one of the nicer examples of this very beautiful
and highly desirable and collectible planes that I have ever had the pleasure to
offer. A winner that belongs on the top shelf of every serious tool collection.

# A45 Aluminum Multi Plane
This is by far the rarest of all Stanley combination planes. The
aluminum #
A45 was made for about 20 years from 1915 - 1925. Very few were made during
that period and fewer have survived. This example is
in nice condition and the owner / collector documented its entire history or provenance on
the attached tag. He got it in a trade back in the 80's and had to
give up quite a pile of other old tools to add this to his collection.
The
overall condition is very nice, and there is little signs of use or abuse.
The cutters
are nice, have never been ground and all here in their original and proper boxes. It has both fences and both sets of rods
and the rare aluminum cam that came with the second generation model of this
plane. The outer wooden box is a craftsman made representation of an
original. A rare plane!!

Stanley
Type 3 #46 Skew Plow / Dado Plane This is a super condition example

screws are not slotted which the type study says would
make it a Type 3 dating from somewhere near 1876 - 1879. It comes with 10 proper
cutters, and has the oftentimes missing wrap around cast iron depth stop. .
