Millers Falls Beam Drill The Millers Falls Beam Drill is the best known and most often sought of all of these to be put back into service.  This one is in pretty nice condition.

Heavy Duty Beam Drill  This is a pretty nice example that with a little cleaning and oiling will make for a great user or a welcome addition to the collection.  Note the heavy duty cast iron side supports that allow this model to drill angled holes.  I have seen lots of other versions of these where this feature was under designed and one side or the other was broken and damaged.  Not the case here.  The wood is OK, but a bit dry and will look great after a treatment.  There is little to no slop in the head or gearing.  A nice piece that will make a great user.

Russell Jennings / Stanley 100 13pc Auger Drill Bit Set  This set looks to have seen little to no use.  Some still have the remains of the original wax paper / plastic wrap.  The points and outer spur cutters look good on all of them.  Tough to find in this condition.     Different and  Nice.

13 Piece Stanley Russell Jennings Auger Drill Bit Set  This set is near mint and all but one is still in its original wrapper.  That one out of the wrapper looks to have seen little use.  This 12 piece set in a 3 tier box is becoming increasingly harder to find.  Different and  Nice.

9 Piece Russell Jennings Auger Drill Bit Set  This set looks to have seen little use.  There may be a couple of replaced ones, but they are proper.  You usually see these as a 13 piece set in a 3 tier box, but this is a proper 9 piece set as can be seen by reading the label.  I have never seen this configuration before.  Different, early and  Nice.

Russell Jennings / Stanley 100 13 Piece # 32 1/2  Auger Bit Set  The pictures pretty much tell the story here.  This set is unused and mint.  The oily waxed wrappers are still in place and have done their job.  There is not rust or pitting, just oily waxed paper.  Even the outer cardboard box is original.    This set is unused and MINT.  Different!

Unusual 3 Wing Adjustable Hollow Auger Judging from the super condition of this strange looking device, I would assume that the prospective user knew he was in trouble as soon as he attempted to adjust it for the first time.  It is certainly not up to the design or quality standards of say a Wood's, Swan, or many others by  manufacturers from this time period.,  These weird designs, and the resulting rarity because of the short production periods are what makes collecting so interesting and  fun.  This example retains nearly all of its original paint and appears to be in perfect operating condition, but I bet this one is better suited for the display, as it just does not seem like a substantial enough design to put up with much use or put out a quality product!.

Pump Auger or Pipe Auger Drill Bits  There are 8 different versions or sizes of these rare auger drills included here.  Several have aux. guards or cutters attached that could be sharpened and / or replaced.  These were mostly used by early settlers to make water pipes or pump housings.  I was reading one story where the early California settlers used a set of these to bring down the largest of the virgin Redwoods or Sequoias down by Calaveras back in the early days when they could not think of any other way to bring down a 300+ ft. tall tree that was over 25' in Dia.  It took them 20 some days to destroy what had taken 2,000 or more years to grow, just so they could say they did it. Too much time on their hands. All appear to be usable.  Nice and different!!.

Patented Bit Brace Adapter / Wrench   This would allow your brace to be used as an adjustable wrench or latch onto things with a square head .  An idea ahead of its time.

2" Spoke Pointer   This 2" diameter pointer is a bit different from those normally seen in that the center chuck post is adjustable for height to control the depth.  The cutter is held with two screws and a special kind of washer to spread out he force and insure that it does not move or chatter in use.  I think it is made by Stearns.   It is nice!
