Goodell Pratt 2 Speed # 5 1/2 Hand Drill  This 2 speed drill is marked Goodell Pratt on the crank handle and chuck.  Nice Rosewood storage handle.  Nice overall condition.  3/8" capacity. Lift the knob marked fast / slow, and turn 90 degrees to change the speed. You need to move the wheel just a touch so it will change. Tight and will be a good user.

Goodell Pratt #32 Bench Screw Driver  I have never seen this before.  I looked it up in a 1915 GP catalog and read about it.  No wonder you do not find many.  Taking the work to the tool and then holding it one handed while operating the drill with the other seems a bit convoluted to me.  Every collection of screwdrivers or old / odd tools needs this.

Yankee / North Brothers #130A Screw Driver  The box is a bit beat up, but the screwdriver itself looks to have seen little to no use. The spring is present, and the action flawless.   I am thinking it is war issue from the finishes.

North Brothers / Yankee #1530 Hand Drill  This is the favorite of users.  The transmission idea from their large breast drills was sized to fit this smaller hand drill making it without a doubt the most versatile of all vintage hand drills.  I especially like the double ratchet position where when you go back and forth the drill keeps going forward.   Much more precise and versatile than one of those battery things with that 3lb weight hanging off the bottom.  Ready to go!

2 Yankee #100 Drill / Driver / Tool Sets in Original Boxes  What you see is what you get.  Both sets are near mint and all here.  Tough to find in this condition. The one on the left is probably WWII era with the blued or oxidized finish.  Other than that they are identical.  Top shelf piece of Yankee / North Brothers workmanship and quality.   Put that battery thing down and use the real deal.   You will "feel" the difference.

Goodell Pratt No. 0 Reciprocating Drill  Very nice.  Like new hardly used.  Shelf dust from sitting 75 years.  Good wood.  Catalog calls it off as cherry.  Chuck revolves on both the up and down stroke. 16-1/2" long with a 1/4" three jaw chuck. The chuck is marked "Goodell-Pratt Company Greenfield, Mass. U.S.A. Pat. Aug. 3, 1895.

3 NOS Yankee / North Brothers #2100 Bit Braces   These #2100 North Brothers bit braces are considered the best braces ever made or offered by North Brothers or later on by Stanley  .  The design and quality of construction is top of the line and includes such things as ball bearings, black hard rubber handles, and the two jaw chuck that is so versatile.  I believe these date  from the 20's and before Stanley bought out North Brothers.  They came to me from a small stash of NOS tools that have been stored away for the last 50 - 75 years in a dry basement.  They are NOS and look to have never been used.  None nicer!!

Stanley # 2101A 10" Bell System B Bit Brace  The 2101 is considered by many to be the finest brace made. This example is very nice with nearly all its plating and showing little signs of use. Very very nice.

This brace sat unused for many years, and as is typical the green grease inside had hardened and gummed up the works. Thanks to the step by step instructions found on Georges Basement Tool website I was able to disassemble, clean, and re assemble it in a reasonable amount of time. All was good inside. It now operates flawlessly and will last another lifetime.

Yankee North Brothers / Bell System  2101 A 8" Brace  Pre Stanley.  Top of the line quality.  The overall condition is nice.  Minor nickel loses and dings.   Ratchet works smoothly and properly.  Good jaws. The 2101 brace is considered by many to be the finest brace made.

Patented May 25 1886 Davis Level & Tool Co. Bit Brace  I see one patent date on the small ratchet knob. That patent was granted to a John Bolen. It is marked L. L. Davis on the brass chuck. The condition is very nice with minor nickel losses and some rusty spots. The ratchet works and the chuck is pretty nice. This would clean up to be much nicer.

Millers Falls No. 182 Combination Ratcheting Drill & Brace  A kind of crazy idea.  I remember when I found my first one years and years ago. I knew nothing about old tools. I started playing with it trying to figure it out and nearly broke my wrist as the drill crank came around while using it as a brace. It appears somebody else had trouble figuring it out as well. It has an apology under the pad. A small piece is broken out there. A great wall hanger.

Stanley #12W Whimble Brace   This brace does not appear to have ever been used.  Look at the condition.  There was some light spotting / rust on the plated bars, but the majority of it just wiped off.  The finish on the handle and pad are near perfect. Super!!

Prince Patented 1909 Combination Wrench Brace  The patent for this unusual gizmo was granted in 1909. The functions listed in the specifications include screwdriver, wire cutter, brace, pipe and nut wrench, and holder for tools such as a hoof parer. Every aspect is operable and OK except for the missing nickel plating.

Mathieson Iron Brace w/ Rosewood Head & Heart Button  The overall condition is nice.   Nice Rosewood pad w/ brass button.  Note the heart shaped button to release the bits. It is marked there and on the side of the head with name and Glasgow location.  Very nice!!

Piano Makers Rosewood & Ivory Bow Drill Both of these piano makers bow drills came from the same tool box along with a number of other piano tuning tools I have listed elsewhere. I got the lot of piano tuning tools, including several Rosewood Handle Tuning Hammers / Wrenches in a trade for some nice bench planes.

One bow drill is marked H. S. & Co. for Hammacher Schlemmer. I see no maker marks on the other which is not unusual. It is probably by one of the known New York piano tool and plane makers like Erlandsen, Brandt, or the like. Both are very similar to each other noting the difference in the shapes of the Rosewood handles.

The pads or bits shown fit either drill. Drill pads usually got separated from their drills and it is unusual to find bow drills with them. I will include five (5) with the sale of each or either drill. I also have one all wood bow (see last pic) that will be included with which ever bow drill sells first.
