Wood Handle Carpenters Square w/ Level in Handle  A large square with a factory level built into the handle.  I see no maker marks.  18" blade.   Very Nice.

12 Inch Walnut Handle Carpenter Square w/ Level & Scribe   Nice wood.  Good Bubble. Faint increments on blade.  I see no maker info but think it is a Disston & Morss.  An unusual & nice Square.

Stanley # 16 Improved Mitre Square  Cast Iron Frame w/ Walnut infill.  2 - 8" and 2 - 10".  All are pretty nice, noting some light pitting and all are the same price.

Disston & Morss Walnut Handle Square w/ Level & Scribe  8" blade. This walnut handle square has a level built into the handle as well as a pull out scribe at the base.  Both the blade and handle are marked.   Pretty nice!!

D. B. & S. Rosewood Handle 10" Machinist Square  Very Nice.  Marked on 10" blade D. B. & S. Prov. RI..  D. B. & S. stands for Darling Brown & Sharpe.   Just to the right of that is the Patent date of October 6 1857.    10" Blade.

4 D. B. & S. Rosewood Handle Machinist Squares   D. B. & S. stands for Darling Brown & Sharpe.  The stamps are very faint if visible at all.  The overall condition of each is nice noting some light pitting.  There is a 8", an 10", and 2 - 12".

Stanley No. 14 Adjustable Try Square   A small hard to find 4"  # 14 Adjustable Square in nickel finish.  Good marking.  Little to no rust or pitting. Pretty nice!!

Stanley Winterbottom Patent 8" Combined Try & Mitre Square   This early Stanley try & miter square has lead infil around the rivets.

Wm. Koenig / Troy NY 3 Bar Depth Gauge / Gage    Wm. Koenig was written up and pictured in Popular Science back in the 40's and was awarded a prize for his wartime money saving ideas.  This unusual piece is  nice & different!!

2 Rosewood Handle Try Squares The large one is a Stanley Sweetheart era 7 1/2" model.  The smaller one is unmarked.  It is a bit heavier duty and better made.  Disston Perhaps?  Both are very nice!

Disston & Morss Walnut Handle Square w/ Level 12" blade. This walnut handle square has a level built into the handle.  The mark is faint, but there. Blade is lightly pitted.  Pretty nice!!

16 Inch Rosewood Handle Carpenter Square w/ Level & Scribe   Nice wood.  Could be Walnut.  Good Bubble. Pitted blade.   I see no maker info. Probably Disston & Morse.  A nice showpiece.

Stanley # 15 Brass Frame Try Square     I see no maker info but the configuration says type 1 Stanley # 15.  A nice showpiece.

Stanley # 10 Inlaid Try Squares  4 -6- 8- 10.  All pretty nice.   All with readable stamps on blades in different locations, different logos.  A nice set sold as a lot or individually.

Rosewood Handle Carpenters 12" Square w/ Level & Scribe in Handle  An unusual variation with a factory level built into the handle.  Note scribe in bottom of handle.  I see no maker marks.  12" blade.   Very Nice.

Groves & Sons Sheffield 16" Carpenters Square  This large English Carpenters square by Groves & Sons, a well known and respected English toolmaker is straight with little or no rust or pitting and plenty of original bluing remaining on the blade.   Good stamp.   Very Nice!!

Stanley R100 Sweetheart Era Take-Down Framing Square This is nice.  It is tight.    Nice!

St. Johnsbury Rosewood Infill Square w/ 15" Blade  This square is unmarked but there is no doubt who the maker is.  The 15 blade is very unusual.  It does have a few small spots of pitting and stains on the blade, but it is in overall nice condition.  The workmanship of this companies tools is unsurpassed.   A Nice Piece!!

Robinson Patent Eagle Mfg Co Bridge Square The condition is super and near new.  This early and unusual square is an interesting design and very hard to find.  The blades are all  nice and both the patent info and the Eagle Name are clear and bold.  95% or so of the finish remains on the cross bar.  Rare and desirable

Lufkin Rule w/ Patent Pending Bevel Guide I have seen and know of a few of these add on gizmos for wooden rules.  This one is marked Thomas Mitre Rule & Patent Pend.

The Standard Take-Down Framing Square The copperized finish on this framing square was an upgrade option that Southington offered and not many people choose as this is the first one that I have seen.  It is simply marked "The Standard" and is in excellent condition.  The canvas case did its job, and is a bit tattered looking.  The 101 model according to the small pocket catalog that is included also offered their patented rafter tables that their 100 model did not.  Very Nice!!

Kenny's Patent Marking Gauge Pat Jan 4th 1870 This interesting piece is unmarked, as they all are, but it is a well known and very desirable patented tool from the 19th century.  Typically they have a Rosewood and Boxwood head, but this version has two boxwood ones.  As is often the case, these heads are both cracked, and one has been glued.  It is still operational and looks OK as is.  The brass rod is in super condition and has never been cleaned or abused.  Ready as is to be used, or with a simple restoration, this could be a highlight.

12" St Johnsbury Machinist Square This is a prime example of a true masterpiece of workmanship and skill from a different era.  There is no damage, rust pitting or other flaws.  An unusual square, in an unusual size and in unusually nice condition.

Stanley Type 1 #16 Mitre Square  This is clearly marked on the blade with the early Stanley logo.  The bottom casting is rounded making it the earliest version of this unusual miter square.  It is the largest, and hardest to find size.     Nice!

Stanley #2 Mahogany Infill 12" Machinist Square  The stamp is there, but very fine, and very faint.  Nice.

Starrett No. 163 30" Drafting Square    A Starrett 30" T-Square with an interesting decorative cast head!!   Nice!!

Brown & Sharpe / Ames Patent 6" Center Square This square w/ center head was patented in 1852.  Some light pitting, but good stamp and readable 12ths & 16ths increments. An interesting and early measuring tool. Nice!!

Keen Kutter / Simmons Hardware 12" Carpenters Square  Most examples of Keen Kutter tools are beat up and about used to death.  Not so here.  This is about as nice as I have seen.   Good clear stamp and note the fine lines still present in the handle groove.   Very Nice!!

Disston & Morss Walnut Handle Square w/ Level 10" blade. This walnut handle square has a level built into the handle.  I can not see the mark, but it is the same design and form as the others.   Pretty nice!!

Stanley No. 24 Patented Combination Try Square & Bevel  There is a patent date stamped on the handle.  It is there, but hard to make out.  The blade is approx. 7" across the top.  Hard to find!!

Henry Disston & Sons Cast Iron Handle Square w/ Level   Very Nice and very unusual.  Has Keystone emblem in frame casting.  9" Blade.  Good bubble.

#439 Starrett 18" Builders Square There is some staining on the blade, but it is not pitted.  One of the 4 bubbles is dead.  Nice enough.   Will be a good user!!

Starrett # 439 Builders Square w/ 24" Blade  Very good overall condition. 4 good bubbles. Matching numbers. Some stains on blade but nice.

Lufkin No. 138 Tool & Die Makers Square  This unusual small machinist square is in nice overall condition!  It can be set out of square with the second thumbscrew on the bottom.    Different

Starrett #439 Builders Square w/ 18" Blade   The previous owner thought enough of this to build a special box to store it in.  He also engraved his name on an edge with an electric pen.  All the bubbles are good.  Overall it is very nice!

Stanley Sweetheart # 21 6" Combo Square   This is the smallest and hardest to find size of this popular tool.  There is one spot of corrosion on the blade, but it is otherwise very nice.

Standard Tool Company Chaplin Patent Center Head Combination Square   This style combination square / center finder was patented by Orrill R. Chaplin. This is the 5" size.  Overall condition is very good.  The rule is a later replacement.  Nice!!

2 Patented Center Head Combo Tools  Tough to find these have been in the collection for 20 -30 years.   The smaller one I believe a Standard Tool Co. example.  The blade is marked Standard Tool Co. Athol.  It is a 2 piece affair that was pinned together.  The tag on it indicates it came from Roger Smith back in 1979. 

The larger one has a later Brown and Sharpe 12" blade in it. I believe it was made by Standard Tool Co as well.  It too is a two piece design that was pinned together. These are an interesting combination tool---a try and mitre square, center finder, depth gauge, and more.

Goodell - Pratt 12" 4 Piece Machinist Combination Square  The blade is marked Millers Falls, or MF.  I believe that is wrong.  It does have one spot of pitting, the rest is pretty nice.

Moore & Wright Combination Square  By the well known English maker of machinist tools. Overall very nice, noting the center finder head looks to be a bit different. The rule is in inches for the American crowd.

Union 615 - 12 4 Piece No. 4 Grad. Combination Machinist Square   NOS - minty nice in original ratty box.   The square is virtually unused and their top of the line, not one of the later light duty things.  Comparable to Starrett.   Nice.

Millers Falls No. 363 12" Combination Square  NOS.  With center head and scribe.  Some rust inhibitor remains that will wipe off.    Nice!

Starrett 12" Combination Square w/ Protractor & Angle Divider  This 4 piece combination square is in nice condition.  The box has seen better days.  No rust, pitting, cracks or other problems.  There is some minor staining on the blade, but not rust or pits.  Ready to go back to work.
