No. 10 1/2 Rabbet Plane This is pretty nice. The Sweetheart logo cutter dates it from the 1920s - 30s.
The cutter is nice and near full length. All in all a good condition rabbet
plane that will be a good user.No rust or pitting to mention. No structural issues. The Rosewood handle has a tight crack halfway down that has not been glued or dealt with. There is little finish remaining on the wood. An easy fix. The japanning is good and over 80%.

9 5/8 Type 1 Tailed Block Plane More
than a 9 1/2, but not all there to be a 9 3/4. What is here has a
great look. Some would call it a prototype and add a 1 to the
price or move the decimal point to the right. I'll just go with a 1 of. The type 1 lever cap and tail are
proper from a type 1 9 3/4. That is what you are paying for.
The rest looks to have originated or been worked on a long, long time

nice early example of a Stanley type 1 10 1/2 rabbet plane. It is an early
type 1 with adjustable throat.

This Stanley # 10 C Corrugated Bottom Rabbit Plane is pretty nice. The paint is
about 70 % and was overcoated with a clear coat to keep it from rusting. The
later post WWII cutter is near full length
and needs to be honed. There is no rust or pitting
just a nice even patina. The throat is nice. The corrugations are "right"
and original. Nice Rosewood tote & knob. No casting damage or
cracks. Nice enough for the shelf or use.

This is a nice early example of a Stanley # 10
C Corrugated Bottom Rabbet Plane. It has been tastefully cleaned / lapped at
some point and looks good. There is 90% of the original japanning or better.
I guarantee the grooves are correct, and "right". This plane dates
from near or just after the turn of the century . The
Rosewood handle and low knob are
nice. The cutter is near full length marked with the patent
triangular

# 10 1/2 C Corrugated Bottom Rabbit Plane
This Stanley # 10 1/2 C Corrugated bottom Rabbit Plane is OK.
The tote has been glued. There is no rust and just a few spots of
minor pitting and normal wear. The throat is OK
The lever cap has a small flea bites on the leading edge. It is a common
size cap and will be easy to change out. No other casting damage or
cracks. A tough plane to find.

Type 2 # 10 Carriage Makers Rabbet Plane
This is a very early Stanley #10. It is a type 2
dating from 1869 - 1872. That is when Stanley first introduced this plane. I believe it has an
early replaced rear handle. The rest of the plane is in pretty nice condition with the
collectors trade mark coat of clear lacquer to help preserve it. The cutter is
near full length and nice. The solid nut is proper. The solid cap is
right. There is no casting damage. There
is little to no rust or pitting to speak of. The tag on it indicates
it was purchased from Tom Witte, the well known dealer in 1988. A hard to find
early model # 10 that deserves a place on the shelf in the next Stanley or

# 10 Pre-lateral Rabbet Plane The
Stanley #10 rabbet plane was first introduced in 1869. Stanley
introduced the lateral adjustment in 1885. Given that this is a prelateral
but has other later features, it would date from approx. 1875 - 1884.
There is plenty of life left in the unmarked cutter. The chip breaker is
marked with Bailey Patent info. The body is nice and damage free.
The
japanning is just OK with about 60% or so. The handle and knob are

10 1/4 Rabbet Plane
The Stanley #10 1/4 rabbet / rebate plane was introduced in 1911 and discontinued
in 1942 during WWII . It is the same size as the #10 with the added features of
tilting handles to add to its user appeal, and the addition of nickers to
aid when working across grain. The near full length cutter has a
sweetheart logo and is nice. Both the handle and knob are nice with no
damage. The japanning is 95% or better and there are no casting problems,
rust or pitting. A nice plane!!

# 10 Carriage Makers 'Rabbit Plane
This Stanley # 10 Rabbit Plane is a type 10 produced in 1910. The paint is original and 90% or better. The proper marked cutter is near full length
and nice. The handle & knob are

just a nice even patina. The previous owner did put 4 punch marks in the

# 10 Carriage Makers Rabbit Plane
This is a nice early example of a Stanley # 10
Smooth Bottom Rabbit Plane. It has been tastefully cleaned. There is 90% or

#10 1/2 Rabbit Plane This is one of Stanley's
most popular models of rabbeting bench planes, and this example still retains 90%
or more of its original black japanning. The Sweet Heart era cutter is short
with only about 3/8" of life left in it. The throat is perfect, and the sides
have been refinished. There is no major damage, casting chips, cracks, welds,
repairs or the like. It just must have looked bad to the last owner that he
lapped the sides and bottom of this 9" plane. The rosewood handle has a near
invisible glue joint 1/2" up from the base. It is lower than normally seen,
and if I did not tell you you would hardly know. This Sweet-Heart Era
#10 1/2 plane will make a great user so stop using that nice one and put this one
back to work.

1st Model #10 1/2 Rabbit Plane
These early versions of Stanley's popular
rabbit plane were only made for a short 10 year period ending in 1895 or so.
This example is in very nice condition and has no problems with the casting near
the cutouts as is often the case. The front moveable portion is nice and operates
as it should. There is a very small chip in the edge of the throat, and another
minute area in the throat that is dimpled in but not cracked. It is approx
1/8 x 1/4 wide, and this flaw would not interfere with the proper operation and
is barely discernable to the eye, but it is there. The handle and knob
are very nice and proper. Rare!!

approx 1895. The body is nice and damage free. The cutter has a
little life left in it. The japanning is approx 80% and the wood is nice.

Stanley #10 1/2 rabbet plane was first introduced in 1885, and came with a

trademark on the cutter, and before the turn of the century. It is not a
type 1 with a moveable front piece. It appears it has a later
lever cap that was not introduced until the 20'sThe body is nice and damage free. The cutter has plenty of life left in it. The japanning is approx 90% or better and the wood is nice. The corrugated version of these planes turn up very infrequently and I guarantee this one to be right. With a proper era cap this would be correct and a plane nice enough for the collection Nice!

Stanley #10 1/4 Tilting Handle Rabbet Plane Stanley only made these planes for a short 5 year span near the turn of the last century. This is a nice example and it still retains 90% or more of its original black japanned finish. The properly marked cutter has over a half inch of usable life left in it. The exposed metal surfaces have a nice even original patina and the nickers are present. The one apology is that the rear handle is a good replacement. It appears that it has been fashioned out of a standard handle, with only the leading edge not having any finish on it after having been cut, being the telling feature or giveaway. It looks good, and this is a hard one to find!

This WWII era Stanley #10 1/2 rabbet plane is in very nice condition. The cutter has a lot of life left in it. The sides
and bottom are rust and pit free and this plane does not have any casting
problems, cracks or chips. It has been cleaned and looks good. The japanning is original and 90% or so.
The handle is painted hardwood, nice, and proper. The blade
adjusting wheel is steel. A nice example of a short lived variation of

# 54 Rabbit & Dado Plane
This is a rare and unusual Stanley Plane. The #54 Stanley were built on a Stanley #50
body, and then had a few changes made to them so Stanley could offer a "New" and
different plane to the hungry consumer. This one is all proper with a correct fence, long & short rods, 8 cutters and the depth stop. The japanning is near perfect, and there is little evidence this plane was ever used. The 3/16ths cutter has some minor pitting, but the rest of the cutters are like new. This plane has sat in an owner made wooden box for 50 + years and looks great. A tough plane to find that has not been fiddled with or even used. A good one!!

54 Rabbit & Dado Plane
The Stanley #54 Rebating & Dado plane is one of the rarer and harder to find Stanley planes of this type.
It is basically a #50 with slight modifications. In order to be proper
the fence needs to be marked 54 as this ones is. It was only made for about 13 years, and in
very limited numbers. What is here is all proper and original. It is in
very nice condition. This version has the blade adjuster so the cutters have a slot milled
into the back. That means that cutters from a later 50 will work and be
proper. There are 7 straight cutters as shown in the pic, and I have
thrown in the #50 bead cutters I got with it as well. Shown in the

Type 1 Stanley # 78 Duplex Rabbet Plane A very early
example in very good used condition. It is complete with good nicker, proper fence,
and depth stop. The cutter is proper and good. Note the unusual
logo stamp on it, and the patent info cast into the body that make it a type 1. It dates from the
1880s to no later than 1901 according to Walters.

# A 78 Aluminum Rabbet Plane Stanley offered
their line of Aluminum planes less than 15 years and production ended in the
mid to late 30s for all the different size and model Aluminum planes they
made. Stanley made the aluminum 78 for just 10 years spanning 1925 - 1935.
The aluminum was very soft and they are prone to scratch. This example is
pretty clean & nice!! It has the proper and correct aluminum depth stop and
fence, but the groove for it has been modified and does not look factory.
I tried to clean it up by hand, and it works OK, but looks nothing like a

# 90A Bullnose Rabbet Plane
Want one but do not like the price of the boxed example. Here you
go. The plane is very nice with some losses to the nickel finish as one
would expect. The sole and throat are very nice. The cutter is full
length with the original grind and marked 90A. So is the tail nut on
the adjuster. The cap is marked Made in the USA. I have included a
number of pics showing just how nice this plane is. The 90A is one of
the rarest and hardest to find of all Stanley planes and this is an
opportunity !! Recommended for the discerning collector!!

# 90A Bullnose Rabbit Plane w/ Original Box
Only of handful of these planes are known,
and just a couple have ever appeared in the box. This Stanley 90A rabbit
Plane has been sitting
on a shelf in 2 collections for close to 30 years and this is the first time it
has come to market in all that time. The original collector bought it from
Roger Smith back in the late 70's. Each of the last 2 collectors thought
enough of it to die with it in their possession, if not their hands, and now is
your chance, as the current consignor is not as attached as they were.
The plane itself is mint and shows no signs of ever having been used. The nickel is 100% and bright. The cutter is full length with the original grind. There is no signs of wear on the tail piece handle. Simply put it was never used.
The box does show some age along the edges and corners. They have been reinforced from the inside, and it looks pretty good now, and is stable. The Sweet Heart label on the end is near 100% and nice. The edges of the inner box are split along the bottom and will need attention if it is handled much.
This is one of the rarest and hardest to find of all Stanley planes. Very few have been offered over the years and none in cleaner unused condition that I have ever seen. I know of only two others that have been sold in their original boxes and both bought more than I am listing this one for.

The #92 Bullnose Rabbit is a very popular plane Stanley first introduced
this model in 1902 and there is still a version being made in England
.This is a USA model. The 3/4" wide cutter shown is near full

Stanley # 92 Cabinet Makers 3/4" Wide Rabbet / Bullnose Plane
There is nearly an 1" of cutter left, it is marked USA and other than
some minor nickel loss this #92 is in very nice condition overall and
damage free. This is the narrow version of Stanley's 90 series of
rabbet planes and is just under 5 1/2" long overall and has an 3/4" wide
cutter. Care must be taken when buying these planes as there are a
myriad of small things that can go wrong, be broken, or damaged, and
these defects are often missed by the uninitiated or inexperienced
buyer. This one has none of those telltale problems with chips, casting
breaks, or stripped adjusters. The previous owner did stamp a ID # up
on the nose but this hardly detracts from an otherwise near mint plane.

the nickel has not done well. The overall condition is very good, with
no damage or issues other then there has been considerable loss to the

issues noting here is a relief on both sides where top meets bottom. There
are contact points front and back on both sides so the top attaches
correctly and sits flat, but there is that visable line in the middle. An area
of the rail raised on
both sides in the middle that is not typical. Caused by? Lots of missing
nickel. Good cutter. A worker.

# 140 Rabbit Block Plane w/ Skew Cutter The cutter
still has plenty of life left and is near full length. The japanning is
original and at least 90%. Given that the cap is Japanned I assume
this was one of the last examples before they stopped production during WWII..
The side plate is nice, and the screws are original and proper. These are
considered one of the best designed Stanley planes and are a favorite with
users.

It is an early model with cast adjuster, and the full length cutter has/ fine grooves. Original screws holding the side plate. You just do not find them this nice anymore.

first introduced this line of rabbit planes in 1886. They came in three
different sizes. 1", 1 1/4, and 1 1/2" wide. They did not have any
spurs and that is the main difference from the #190 series that look similar.

This Stanley # 196 Curve Rabbet Plane is a very hard to find Stanley
plane.They were only made for a little over 20 years
beginning back in 1912 and this is 1 of
just a couple I have had in the last 20 some years. It is by far the
nicest condition one i have ever had. The condition is super with well over 95% of the
original nickel plating remaining. The 1" skew double cutter is proper
/original and near full length.All adjusters and depth stops are correct
and work. Some people love them, some not, but there is no argument

The fence is damaged. About 1" of the "wing" on the left side is broken off / missing. It should have 2 indexing rods as well that are missing. It is usable and functional w/ the missing piece and no rods. A nice little special use dado plane.
