#L20-83E-HFL Shuttle Plane
This unusual Stanley Shuttle Plane is in nice original condition. These
planes were used in the textile industry to shape or size shuttles in industrial
settings. They were never offered in the standard catalogs and were a
specialty item produced for this specific industry. There are a few
different variations known, and most are found like this with no parts of the
frame or track that it ran in. At first glance these could be
mistaken for a Bedrock with the flat top side rails, but they are that way to
attach the missing frame to. The tags indicate that the collector bought
this from Roger Smith in 1991. A nice example

9 Cabinet Makers Low Angle Miter Plane w/ Hot Dog Handle The #9
miter plane was
known as Stanley's piano maker or cabinet makers plane.
It is a low angle miter plane designed for fine finish work and when properly
tuned and set up will produce a fine finish.
This example is damage
free, and has a nice even dark patina with no rust or pitting. Almost
all of the original japanning is still on the interior surfaces. They are
often damaged around the adjuster area at the rear, but this one is nice and
damage free. The hot
dog side handle is original and not a knockoff. Look at the halo
it has left on the side of the plane when removed in the other pics. The throat is nice,
and there is lots of life left in the cutter. It also has the proper
long neck lever cap. A nice
example of a hard to find plane.

9 Stanley Low Angle Cabinet Makers Miter Plane w/ Hot Dog Handle
This # 9 Stanley miter plane looks pretty good but it does
have some issues. There is some damage on one side I have shown in the
pics. It is hard to see, but there is a hairline crack in the side
about 1" in front of the throat running up from the sole. There is a
slight indent in the side at that point. It will never affect use, and
this will be a great user, but it is there. The other issue is the
lever cap off of a Sargent plane. There is no damage to the tail or
areas around it. The cutter is nice with an early logo. The
hotdog handle has been polished, but is "right". Tune it up and put it back

It has a nice J logo cutter.This example has been carefully lapped and is damage free. There is some missing paint inside at the rear. No 11 1/2 Floor Plane A very nice
example of a hard to find plane.Similar to the No. 11 the 11 1/2 was
for planning floors prior to finishing. Made for just 14 or so years
beginning in 1909. No issues.

No. 11 is considered
a later model with the adjuster as part of the body that came out from the back
of the plane. It is in fine overall condition. The long nice T logo
cutter dates it from shortly after the turn of the century.An unusual plane designed scrape and dress leather belts for line driven machinery. First introduced in 1869. Overall very nice condition. No issues. Nice Rosewood handle. Very Nice!

1/4 Scraper Plane
This NOS / unused #12 1/4 scraper plane has a marked Sweetheart Cutter.
That is unusual as they are almost always missing from this plane.
This 12 1/4 scraper looks to have never been used and still has waxed paper with grease / cosmoline
stuck to it. The cutter was similarly wrapped when
I got
this and I took that off. It left just a few minor stains on the cutter. It came in the generic
white box you see, and I am not sure if this was some
contract order, or something the owner made up on his own to protect it for
the last 60 -80 years. Look at the other pics to see that there is basically no rust or even stains on the body of the plane. The japanning is close to 100% and original. A super plane in super hard to find condition. You will not find a nicer condition example!!

12 1/2 Rosewood Bottom Scraper Plane This
plane is NOS, Never Been Used, dead mint. The box it is simply folded
card stock. Not sure where the original got off to or who made this. Any stains
or discoloration are just cosmoline and wax paper stuck to the sides.

# 12 3/4 Scraper Plane The Stanley #12 3/4 is a rare
Scraper plane. They were only made for about 15 years. This Stanley #12 3/4 scraper plane
is right. There has been nothing done to it. See the pics to confirm.I have heard there is a new crop of fake ones being sold on eBay as real. That is too bad. I guarantee that this one is "right".
The condition of this example is pretty nice. The extra thick Rosewood sole is very nice and shows little signs of wear and tear. It looks to have seen little use but there are losses to the japanning in some areas. The sides are not pitted, but do have light stains that would easily lap out if you choose to do that. Overall it is a pretty nice example of a rare Stanley plane.

12 Scraper Plane This early #12 Scraper
is an example of how much condition can be a factor. While it is basically
the same as the one above in form and vintage, the condition is
worlds apart.That fact made no difference at all to the collector, he
just bought any or all he saw. This one has the proper clipped corner cutter, and has
no apologies. A super piece of early Stanley plane making.
This one belongs on a shelf as part of the collection or will be a fine
user.

# 87 Scraper Plane
This #87 Scarper is in overall very nice original condition. It retains 95% or better of its original
japanning. The finish on the Rosewood handle and knob is nice and there is
just one small chip out of the top of the tote. The cutter is unmarked but
looks original and correct. There is one apology. On the rear drivers side rail the previous owner stamped his initials CAT, and when he hit that last letter he created a small and barely noticeable hairline that if I did not mention it might be overlooked. You can see it in the close-up pics. It is stable and hard to see, but there. Overall a super example of a very hard to find Stanley scraper plane.

85 Cabinet Makers Scraper Plane Stanley
offered this style scraper plane for approx. 30 years and ended production in 1935.
They functioned similar to other less expensive scrapers but had the added
draw of tilting handles. Overall nice condition. Long marked cutter.

212 Scraper plane was a favorite of the bamboo fly rod makers back in the
day. It was such a hard plane / scraper to find that teaches changed
to the common 9/12 block plane as the tool of choice. For a while it
was hard to keep them in stock the demand was so great.This 212 is in top shape. It has an original unmarked cutter. There is no rust or pitting, and no other issues. The original japanning is well over 95%. Suitable for use of the collection.

212 Scraper Plane This 212 scraper is a
nice looking plane.
It has been lapped and there is no rust or pitting. It has been
repainted or had the japanning enhanced. The cutter is unmarked as is typical for this
plane. Back in the day this was the plane / scraper of choice for
fly rod makers, but the limited supply could note meet the demand as they
are pretty hard to come by and very pricey. 9 1/2's block planes whose price
fits the everyman's budget a bit better are
the recommended choice for the masses these days. I imagine it is much like
anything else and wonder what the fellows making $2000 + rods are using, one

The #40 1/2 is the larger version of the more common #40 scrub plane. This
example is all original and the nicest condition I have seen in years.
There are still remains of the decal on the handle, The cutter is marked with the sweetheart logo,

# 62 Low Angle Stanley Cabinet Makers Plane is in very nice original
condition. Stanley began offering this plane in 1905 and the advent of
WWII ended its production. It has a legacy as Stanley re-introduced a
version of the 62 a few years ago. The originals immediately went up in value
as the new version gets very poor reviews or ratings. The japanning on this example is well over 90% with just minor loses at the nose and tail. The cutter is full length. The throat area is nice with no chips or cracks. The sole and sides are nice as well. The finish on the original Rosewood handle is crazed a bit and there are some minor dings. Overall a nice example priced to sell.

64 Low Angle Butcher Block Plane The
#64 Stanley Butcher Block Plane is one of the hardest of all Stanley planes
to find. Stanley only offered this plane for about 8 years ending production in the
early 1920's. It was offered with two different cutters, but only the
smooth one is here. There is a small chip in the lever cap, and the
top of the tote is a bit chewed up. It is otherwise sound and damage
free. Priced right this is a super piece suitable for the Stanley or

The 51 - 52 Shoot board & plane was first offered in 1905 and as with many of Stanley's
other more unusual offerings was dropped from the line in 1942 during
WWII. This example is in fine condition and complete with the
original hold down and locking pin which are oftentimes missing. No rust,
pitting. The frog is OK and no other condition issues. Add it to the
collection, or put it back into service.

# 56 Core Box Plane This is a super condition and very desirable example
of one of Stanley's rarest and hard to find planes that they produced. This
planes patent was taken out in 1909, and Stanley offered for sale the same year.
It was only offered until 1923 when stocks produced before the War ran out and no
more were made. It is a rare plane. This example still sports 95% or
more of the original japanning. The exposed faces are very nice with just
some spotting and no pitting or rust. It is one of the nicest of these that
I have had over the years.

#62 Low Angle Cabinet Makers Plane This
is the nicest example of Stanley's popular and versatile low angle cabinet makers
plane that I have had in a long time. Note the condition of the rosewood handle.
The throat area which is oftentimes damaged is perfect. The japanning is near
perfect. The front knob does not have any problems and still retains its original
finish. This plane was not used more than a couple of times. The condition
is second to none and a nicer example will not be found easily.

It is an early japanned version with 90% or more of the original japanning.
Given the way it is marked w/o the Stanley name or #, and just the patent
info I believe it is a type 1 dating from 1885 - 1886.

# 97 Cabinet Maker Edge / Chisel Plane This is a
nice Stanley #97 Plane. The leading edge of the plane has a small
irregularity on one side. It is less than 1/16th and could easily be
worked out if one wanted. The cutter is full length and there is no pitting or rust. The plane retains well over 90% of
the original japanning and there is just a nice even patina on the exposed areas. A nice looking plane in nice
condition!!

164 Low Angle Plane The
#164 low angle plane is one of the rarest and hardest to find of all Stanley
planes. Stanley offered this plane for about 17 years beginning in the early
1920's.
The condition is exceptional with over 97% of the original
japanning and finish remaining. The Rosewood handles are in fine condition
with nearly 100% of their finish. The throat is nice and the moveable
front piece operates properly and is damage free. It was used, as the
cutter is short. Lie Nielsen makes a version of this plane, and they have
replacement cutters.
A super piece suitable for a spot on the top shelf
in any Stanley collection!!

plane is in pretty nice condition. It is considered one the the hardest to
find of all planes that Stanley produced. They were introduced in 1926 and
production ended with the beginning of the war. Some have speculated that
there was only one production run and then this supply was offered over the next
20 or so years. The adjusting mechanism is vertical and very tricky to get
to operate, a factor that probably held back sales and plays a factor in its limited
availability and super rarity.The cutter on
this one is the rectangular block, thus dating it from near the end of the offering.
The handle has a tight hairline in it that I do not think has been glued, but it
is still stable.
The front knob is nice, but there is a small chip in the boss where the rod screws
into the moveable throat piece. This area still works properly but there is
a relief at this point. The japanning is well over 95% and looks good.
The sides are nice, and there is very light pitting or texture on the sole. This
would lap out easily if so desired.

It still retains approx 90% or more of the original finish. The wood is nice and original. 64 Butcher Block Low Angle Plane The
#64 Stanley Butcher Block Plane is one of the hardest of all Stanley planes
to find. And to find one complete with both cutters and in like new unused condition is really rare. It is
near dead mint with over 98 % of the original japanning and finish. The
Beech handles are in fine condition with nearly 100% of their original finish.
There is just some shelf dust from where it sat on the collectors shelf for
the last 30 years or so. It
has both cutters and they show no signs of use or having been sharpened.
Stanley only offered this plane for about 8 years ending production in the
early 1920's. A super piece suitable for a place on the top shelf of
any Stanley Tool collection!!

# 444 Dovetail Plane
The Stanley #444 dovetail plane is one of the oddest planes made by Stanley. It
was offered for a little over 25 years beginning in 1912. This example is in its original box, but
appears to have had some restoration work done on it. It appears to have
been chrome plated at some point, and I believe the spur blocks are recast
replacements. I do not see any damage, welds, or pitting, but it has
been worked over. The box of cutters is present, with 3 in it, and 1 in
the plane
making for a full set. The instruction on the lid are readable and there
is an instruction pamphlet.
